EFS Assessment Task 5

Legal System In Australia

Topic: Gambling

Gambling involves the placing or staking of money or items of value on the outcome of an uncertain event that is determined by chance, which includes gaming, betting, wagering and lotteries.
In Australia, people who are under the age of 18 are not allowed to participate in any type of gambling.

Gambling can cause some very serious effects. Many people spend a lot more time and money on gambling, even they know they should stop. However they want to chase their losses, then spending more money trying to win back what they have already lost.
On the other hand, problem gambling can cause stress, depression, relationship breakdowns, financial hardship, family problems and loss of employment. All of these things can also lead people to gamble
